After retiring from boxing, Tyson has remained in the public eye through various media appearances, including a one-man Broadway show, movie roles, and a popular podcast. His life and career have been marked by both his achievements in the ring and his controversies outside of it.
Tattoos hold a special place in people’s hearts, often representing their beliefs and conveying a message close to their hearts. In the realm of celebrities, we’ve witnessed numerous iconic tattoos that have left a lasting impact, even inspiring scenes in movies. For instance, Bollywood featured a replication of Dwayne Johnson’s chest tattoo in a song, while Conor McGregor’s tattoos have become iconic in their own right, captivating fans worldwide. One of the most legendary tattoos is the face tattoo sported by Mike Tyson. Recently, Ex of Jake Paul Julia Rose showcased her own version of Mike Tyson’s famous face tattoo on her Instagram account.
Tyson has another tattoo that perfectly matches the Maori martial ornament on his face – the image of an aggressive tiger preparing to jump. The drawing evokes Eastern traditions, reminiscent of the idea of the dragon, which signifies nobility, bravery, strength, and power.
Tyler Piccotti first joined the Biography.com staff as an Associate News Editor in February 2023, and before that worked almost eight years as a newspaper reporter and copy editor. As the third round was about to begin, Tyson came out of his corner without his mouthpiece. Lane ordered Tyson back to his corner to insert it. Tyson inserted his mouthpiece, got back into position, and the match resumed. Tyson began the third round with a furious attack. With forty seconds remaining in the round, Holyfield got Tyson in a clinch, and Tyson rolled his head above Holyfield’s shoulder and bit Holyfield on his right ear. A one-inch piece of cartilage was torn from the top of Holyfield’s ear, which Tyson spat out onto the ring apron.
He told Fox Sports: “My first impression was that I’ve never had a tattoo in my life, but I thought we are fighting in a week and when you get a tattoo you can’t fight because they snap up and it wouldn’t be healthy to do that.
D’Amato also managed José Torres who, in May 1965 at Madison Square Garden, defeated International Boxing Hall Of Fame member Willie Pastrano to become world Light Heavyweight champion. At the time, the face work created quite a buzz for varied reasons. However, no one can deny that, over the years, it has become a part of the Mike Tyson identity. Jake Paul might have bona fide reasons to honor the boxing great. But whether it will find acceptance among fans and followers, time alone will tell.
This is an interesting fight to pick – given the age gap, and what both opponents have done over their careers. A clear winner can be determined by knockout, however. Given Paul’s age and how active he’s been recently in boxing (10 fights since 2020), it’s easy to see why oddsmakers lean towards The Problem Child. Tyson is a +310 underdog, according to FanDuel.
Tyson’s new, mellowed state has finally allowed him to get real about his decision to get the tattoo. It boils down to caprice that reflects his drug-addled period. In an interview from 2012, posted on YouTube, Tyson states that he was intending to get “a bunch of hearts and stuff” on his face because he wanted to be known as “The Man of Hearts.” Tyson’s tattoo artist, Victor Perez, straight-up refused, and instead drafted some tribal patterns. “I just thought it was so hot,” Tyson says. “I would be in these dens, these clubs and strip places sometimes and all the girls said ‘oh you are very exotic, where are you from?'”
Paul gets his face tattooed in a video, and he gets up to show it’s the same tattoo Tyson had on his face for years. In addition, Paul confirmed that he is fighting Mike Tyson and expressed his enthusiasm for the fight. Furthermore, Paul imitated Tyson’s infamous words to Donovan ‘Razor’ Ruddock about making him his girlfriend. Subsequently, Paul mimicked a few more of Tyson’s famous quotes and stated, “My style is impetuous. My defense is impregnable. I want your heart. I want to eat his children. On the 20th, I’ll come out victorious.”

An unusual training technique? Sure, but Zhang is not your usual fighter. Like, what is a two-time Chinese Olympic heavyweight doing in suburban Jersey? For that you have to go to Terry and Tommy Lane, cofounders of Lane Brothers Boxing. In 2009 the Chinese national bantamweight division boxing rankings team began making sporadic trips to the U.S. for training camps. Eventually the Lanes, then small-time promoters in Nevada, began hearing chatter about some of the talent, including Zhang, who punched his way to a silver medal at the ’08 Beijing Games. The Lanes linked up with Dino Duva, a veteran U.S. promoter who had built some relationships in China. Together, the trio formed Dynasty Boxing, negotiating with the Chinese government to turn a handful of fighters pro, including Zhang, and bring them to the United States. Duva, the former president of Main Events, was based in New Jersey. So, in ’14, Zhang went there.
